Product Details

BC Racing BR Series Coilovers for the 2009-2014 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec V8 Sedan (BH) are BC Racing's entry-level coilover and the most popular kit in their entire lineup — they offer the most accessible entry into adjustable coilover suspension without sacrificing performance, comfort, build quality, or handling. Every kit is extensively tested on the Genesis R-Spec V8 Sedan BH chassis and refined until it balances ride quality with performance — the reason Genesis R-Spec V8 Sedan coilovers from BC Racing are the best-selling adjustable kits in their segment worldwide.

Every BR Series kit is built around a mono-tube damper with simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment at every corner — a wide damping range without the complexity of a race-only setup. Ride height is fully adjustable independent of spring preload, so you set the stance and the ride separately. BC Racing takes pride in choosing spring rates and damper valving that balance comfort and performance — you never end up with the oversprung, harsh-riding kit some brands ship as their only option. Drivers who want to deviate from the factory setup can order Swift Springs, custom spring rates, and custom valving at checkout; BC will re-valve the dampers to match whatever you specify, a level of customization most brands reserve for their top-tier race kits.

BC Racing has been manufacturing adjustable coilovers since 2004 and is one of the most popular coilover brands in the automotive tuning industry for a reason: competitive pricing, deep customization, proven reliability, and a fully rebuildable damper design that lasts years instead of seasons. These Genesis R-Spec V8 Sedan coilovers arrive tuned for the BH chassis and ready to bolt in — no break-in period, no guessing at setup. Every kit ships with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, lifetime access to BC service parts (pistons, seals, shafts — no unit replacement required when it's time for a rebuild), and in-house tech support from both BC Racing and the Springrates team.

These do wonders for the BH Genesis

I mounted this coilover set on my 2013 Genesis 5.0 Rspec. I'm dissapointed that they do not come with instructions and I did have a bit of difficulty mounting the rear springs. The boot is not made to fit flush with the rear control arm, for that reason, I left the OEM boot in the control and placed the adjustable boot on top of it. This seems to have worked as the car has been driving now but it does concern me that this was not visited during product development. There really should be multiple sizes of rubber boots to accomodate this. Another issue I ran into is now my ESC light goes on after about a minute of driving. This is dangerous because when it is on, my traction control doesn't work. I'm going to attempt to sort this out on my own but I think a coilover kit is certainly more enjoyable without that nanny getting in the way... However this car is being driven in an area with frequent rain so this is something to consider.

Besides this one hang-up, replacing struts and shocks on this car is pretty straight-forward and can take a couple days of hammering bolts but it came together. In the default configuration that this kit comes in, the fenders are sitting flush with the tires on my OEM 19" rims. There is plenty of room to adjust this thing up or down. I'm personally going to add an inch back to the cars height because I'm always afraid of scraping the road or bottoming out due to flooding. The default stiffness is a tad stiff for my liking, and is set to 15 out of…

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

How much will BC Coilovers lower my car?

On average, Standard Drop allows about 1-2 inches of drop range below factory ride height. Extreme Low allows about 2-3 inches of drop.

Can BC Coilovers achieve factory ride height?

No. In most cases, factory ride height cannot be achieved.

What is a custom build vs off-the-shelf kit?

The stock level displayed on our website reflects the availability of standard “off-the-shelf” kits, unless noted otherwise in the product description. Selecting any custom options—such as Extreme Low, custom spring rates, Swift Spring upgrades, or top mount changes—will result in a custom-built kit. Please note: all series except the BR Series are built to order, with the exception of select popular DS Series kits that may be in stock. Also, some popular Extreme Low kits are in stock as well. To identify these, look for "Extreme Low" in the product title.

Will the struts be valved correctly?

Yes! The shocks and/or struts are always valved to match the spring rates you choose during a custom build. There is no additional cost.

Can they be rebuilt?

Yes, all BC Racing Coilovers can be rebuilt by purchasing individual replacement parts. For example, if a strut leaks, you can simply replace the shock cartridge.

Is there rush shipping available?

Rush shipping is not offered, but all in-stock kits ship very fast— most by the next day.

Customizing the coilovers in any way will delay the shipment by a few weeks on average.
