The exact damper layout is matched to the suspension: cars with MacPherson struts get an inverted monotube design, while double A-arm cars run upright dampers. In every case, external reservoirs keep the oil cool and put fine adjustment within easy reach.
Three-Way Damping, Matched to Your Suspension
The ZR Series separates damping into three independent adjustments: 30 clicks of rebound, 15 clicks of low-speed compression, and 12 clicks of high-speed compression. Low-speed compression governs body control through steady inputs like braking and cornering, while high-speed compression handles sharp hits such as curbs and rough pavement, so you can tune each without compromising the other. On cars with MacPherson struts, the ZR Series comes standard with an inverted monotube damper; cars with double A-arm suspension use upright dampers. Either way, the layout is built to give a racer precise, repeatable control.
External Reservoirs Built for Easy Adjustment
Every ZR Series damper runs external reservoirs to hold more oil and resist the heat that causes fade during long sessions. On strut cars, a steel-braided, Teflon-coated line exits the top of the damper and leads to reservoirs that can be remotely mounted on the chassis for quick access. On double A-arm cars, braided lines or a solid stem exit the bottom of the damper to a reservoir that mounts under the chassis or on the shock body itself. The result is a system that stays consistent under race conditions and is easy to fine-tune between runs.
